The Designs

The plan is organized around a chain of planted courtyards that pull light and air into the center of the house. Recessed glazing, deep overhangs, and textured stone walls create shade at the perimeter, while the interior moves gradually from public gathering rooms to sheltered family spaces.

Conclusion

Rather than resisting the desert landscape, the completed house uses its conditions to shape every major decision. Shade, mass, planting, and orientation work together to create a calm, durable residence whose sense of comfort is inseparable from its setting.
